THE CHALLENGE: Killer Shorts faced challenges with an inconsistent visual identity that didn't fully capture the thrilling and eerie essence of its horror screenwriting contest. The brand struggled to present a cohesive, professional image across platforms, potentially limiting its ability to attract top-tier talent and industry connections. Without a unified aesthetic, the contest lacked a memorable, standout presence in the competitive horror space, making it harder to engage both emerging writers and influential filmmakers.
THE SOLUTION: I revitalized Killer Shorts’ visual identity by creating a cohesive and striking branding that aligns with the contest’s horror theme. I also redesigned the main posters for two consecutive editions, developing custom laurel designs, and producing animations that enhanced their website and social media presence. The new branding not only captured the contest’s dark, thrilling atmosphere but also gave it a professional edge, helping to attract and engage both emerging horror screenwriters and industry professionals. The updated visuals provided a unified, memorable brand experience across all platforms, strengthening the contest's reputation.
